CampAspect app for iPhone and iPad

CampAspect is a tool to help you get the right aspect for your campsite. It shows you where the sun rises and sets relative to the compass for your location so you can orient your awning or living area. It also operates as a level in order to level your camper to give you the best nights sleep. CampAspect allows you to share your camp information with your friends.

When you launch CampAspect it acquires your current location using the hardware built into your device. It then determines the sun rise and sun set position and shows this on the display. If your device has a built in compass then the display is oriented so that it points towards North and the sun rise and set is in the correct direction as indicated on the display. This helps you decide how to orient your camper on your camp site and even your solar panels.

If you have a network connection, the satellite image is downloaded in the background and shown on the display with the sun path drawn over the top. Your locality is also shown in the status bar.

The control bar at the bottom of the display allow you to switch to the spirit level tool, get information about the application, obtain help, and gives access to the Share menu in order to share your camp with your friends.

Once you have a good idea of the direction that you are going to orient your camper or caravan then you flick over to the level tool and level your camper or motor home. You can also use the level tool to level your fridge.

You can email, SMS, tweet, or post your camp information to facebook using the Share button to let your friends know how much fun you are having. You can share the location (latitude, longitude and altitude) along with the name of the nearest town and an overhead image of the camp site with your friends.

The Settings icon is in the header bar and this allows you to customise CampAspect. The Settings allow you to configure your preferences.

At the bottom of the Info screen there are buttons that allow you to email support about any problems you are having or make suggestions for new features.
